Dr. F. Nicholas Shamma is a founding member of IVF Michigan & Ohio Fertility Centers and the founder of Gift of Life Surrogacy located in Sylvania, Ohio. Dr. Shamma is one of the leading reproductive endocrinologists and infertility specialists in Ohio and Michigan. Dr. Shamma is American Board Certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He has performed over 8,000 IVF cases and has helped thousands of couples achieve their dreams of parenthood. Dr. Shamma has over 150 publications and abstracts in the fields of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Infertility. He has also made significant contributions to ethical considerations in infertility and gestational surrogacy, ensuring that patients receive not only cutting-edge treatment but also thoughtful, compassionate care. Dr. Ahmad Hammoud, Medical Director at IVF Michigan, is American Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is also National Board of Medical Examiners Certified. Dr. Hammoud’s professional interests include studying the effects of environment and diet on fertility, abnormal sperm testing, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and reduced ovarian reserve. Dr. Ahmad Hammoud believes in providing medical and emotional support to couples dealing with infertility. Dr. Hammoud has received multiple local and national awards for excellence in clinical care, medical education and infertility research.
Dr. Andrea Starostanko

Dr. Andrea Starostanko is a double board-certified specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at IVF Michigan & Ohio Fertility Centers. She’s dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate their unique paths to parenthood, with a particular focus on egg freezing, in vitro fertilization (IVF), third-party reproduction, and providing inclusive fertility care for single individuals and the LGBTQ+ community. Having personally used IVF to build her own family, Dr. Starostanko understands the profound impact this technique can have on family building. Dr. Starostanko’s approach to care is centered around education and evidence-based practices. She believes in empowering her patients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. Her practice is known for creating a supportive and encouraging environment where patients feel heard and understood. Deeply committed to engaging with the community, Dr. Starostanko has been recognized by her peers as an Hour Detroit “Top Doc” every year since she began her practice.
Dr. Suruchi Thakore
- Reproductive Endocrinologist
Dr. Suruchi Thakore is a physician specializing in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Thakore cares for patients at the Grand Rapids and East Lansing locations. Prior to moving to Michigan, Dr. Thakore was the Division Director of the University of Cincinnati Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. There, she was a patient and physician advocate for the State of Ohio for infertility and women’s reproductive health. She has a strong passion for providing evidence-based care to optimize the success of her patients. Dr. Thakore’s interests include polycystic ovarian syndrome, fertility preservation, management of infertility, and use of third party reproduction to create families. She believes that everyone has a right to build a family and that infertility is a journey. Dr. Thakore is honored to be a guide and advisor to her patients to help achieve their family planning goals. She looks forward to making a home in Michigan and continuing helping patients through their journey.

Dr. Shamma and the IVF Michigan and Ohio clinic, as well as the gift of life surrogacy agency they partner with were extremely informative, and helped guide us from start to finish on our journey resulting in our baby girl this month. My husband and I highly recommend their agency. For first time parents the surrogacy process can be intimidating, but they were patient and helped guide us at every step of the process.
